This commercial sapce design is a Taizhou cuisine restaurant named "Chunlang," located in Jinling Central (JLC) Plaza, Nanjing. The design centers on the theme "Between mountains and sea, guided by fishermen's lanterns, seeking flavors homeward," integrating the coastal character of Taizhou into the spatial narrative. Wave-like lines permeate the overall design, delineating the distinctive ambience of a seaside town. The design language is anchored in classical Chinese aesthetics, with Taizhou-specific elements thoughtfully interwoven. Elegant lotus lanterns, fish motifs playfully adorning the walls, and wave patterns at detail level are complemented by natural materials such as light teak and walnut timber, collectively evoking the abundant atmosphere of a coastal town. All furniture within the restaurant is custom-designed to maintain a cohesive material quality. From the gracefully lined lotus lanterns, to the ice display finished in saddle leather, to dining tables pairing light stone tops with timber legs — every detail is dedicated to crafting a dining space that carries classical charm while retaining the relaxed ease of a coastal city.

Wrought Iron Lotus Lanterns

Suspended from the ceiling are multiple custom wrought iron lotus lanterns. Their fluid, sinuous lines fuse the imagery of ocean waves and lotus leaves, introducing a classical yet contemporary visual focal point to the space.

Silver Thread Wave Wallpaper

The walls are extensively clad in silver thread wallpaper with a wave pattern, where delicate textile craftsmanship renders a tide-like texture. Under light, it shimmers with a subtle sheen — as though ripples across a water surface — enriching the spatial texture and layered depth.

Openwork Screen Partitions

To optimize privacy and dining experience, we designed a series of neo-Chinese openwork screen partitions. These effectively delineate the spatial zones while maintaining visual transparency, cultivating a serene and refined dining atmosphere.
